UGC Notice to all aspiring M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree Students of India


As per UGC (Minimum standards and procedure for awards of M.Phil.iPh.D. Degree) Regulations, 2016, no University/lnstitution is allowed to offer M.Phil. and Ph.D. programme through distance learning mode.

Students are advised not to take admission in any M.Phil./Ph.D. programme, if offered by any University/lnstitution through distance learning mode.

It is informed that UGC has allowed Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), and some other State Open Universities to conduct M.Phil./Ph.D. programmes in non-technical programmes in’Regular (full-time/part-time) mode’ only provided these universities abide by the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degrees) Regulations, 2016 and have specific approval of the UGC.
